Religion

That’s me, touching in one of the most controversial topics ever. Religion is so polemic that people are dying everyday because they have a different idea about who God is. Even though we are in a materialistic society, everyone has already stopped once to think who God is, or even if they believe in him after all. Sometimes, God just shows up when the person really needs him, like a lost or an illness. For me, it’s not important how they enter; the important is for him to never leave.
Does He care if you go to a church every Sunday or if you sing a little song for him everyday? We can’t forget that we, humans, are the ones who invented that, with God’s intervention on not. Will He really be mad at you if you don’t wear a turban or a veil? Does all this matter? Isn’t the important your soul? Or the good deeds that you realize during your life? Is your place guaranteed in heaven or in god knows where because you act like a religious guy, even though you don’t have any respect with the world around you? (Oh gosh, so many questions, so little answers).
Why religions have to be so separated from each other? Or you are A or you are B, you CAN’T believe in both, or in neither. One religion could compliment other or explain things that the first one can’t explain. The problem also is when the religion is already chosen for you by your country or your family. Everyone should study about all religions and acquire knowledge about them before decide what they’ll believe. The important, when the subject is religion, is to BELIEVE, having faith and hope, and, because of that, have a more pleasant life. For Bob, even love can be a religion.
Some religions were invented by men with some controversial interests, like fortune or society’s alienation. They were created and recreated as the period of history requires. That, for me, is just very, very wrong. But some others have an old and good tradition, and these ones have some truth inside them.
I’ll have doubts if I had to answer which religion is mine. And all this is my opinion, feel free to disagree, and let’s make that an exchange of points of view. Ok, I think that’s it for today.
Namaste

ps: horrible English; it’s midnight, and I’m sleepy and with too many ideas in my head.

Let it be

The Beatles, in one of their most beautiful songs, sum up my text today: people have got to let it be! Life is much simpler than it looks like (for people with basic life conditions, obviously). One of the reasons life’s good is because you never know what will happen, or how you are going to face a fact or an embarrassing situation. There’s no need to arrange everything or be mad when a little situation don’t follow your plans. Of course some things need to be organized, but the ‘not knowing’ what’s going on is very good as well, just go with the flow or play in the hey. (friends addition).
There are things in life that you just can’t control then. There are not your fault, of mine, or anyone’s, they just happen. Can you control what people think of you, the weather, or the traffic? That’s my point, you can’t. So how are you going to be mad of something that is not you decision?
Things fall from tables or buildings, it rains when you just don’t want to, people keep on knocking you out or gossiping about your best friends and that outfit won’t fit. There’s no need to be mad or angry.
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be :D

ps: Inspiration- two days ago I was really pissed of, walking in the rain, at night. But when I looked to the shy I realized how beautiful the night was (the moon was perfect) and how I was loosing all this because of my anger.

Who are you?

Are you your first name, or the last one? Are you what is written is your profile or you fast description on your diary? Are you the way you act when you are with your friends, or with your family? With your coworkers? Or even with yourself, reading some comic books? Are you the things you wish for, the ones you hope? The ones that you love or that you hate? Are you your likes and dislikes? The description you make of yourself to your friends? Are you the things you say?
Who you are is what you want to be when you grow up? Or when you grow old? Or when you just grow? Are you your ideals, your aims in life? Are you the money you make? The latest wardrobe you have? Are you your family? Are you your personality? Are you your point of view?
No. Those things are not you. Maybe a mix of all those thigs, but it's hard to say. If you think about it, they are just your first name, and last one, your characteristics, your job, your fortune, your preferences, and then it goes. They are not you.
The scientists could say you are Homo sapiens. Besides, for the rest of the world, we are all just stereotypes. But inside you, your soul and your prejudice, do you know who you really are? Cause I don’t.

Recipe for happiness

There are sometimes in life that we forget how to be happy. So, here I am to remind all of us little things that anyone can do to be happier, and to, specially, upgrade their self esteem. I did some research in some magazines, this is not all mine.

1) Stick to your personality, always. Everyone loves a band that you hate? Everybody uses an outfit that you think it’s horrible? Whatever! Don’t apologize for being who you are. You need to know who you are to love yourself.
2) Change! Your look, your room, your hairstyle. New things bring new energies to your life
3) Remember your achievements. Do you finally got an A+ in a biology test? Al last, you are in a relationship? Congratulations to you!
4) Since you have remembered your achievements, it’s high time for you to do new goals. These goals doesn’t have to be big ones, but something to fight for, like ‘make 5 new friends this year’, or ‘learn how to play piano’. The feeling of achieve something new is amazing.
5) Smile: for your family, for your friends, for yourself.
6) Make a list of your qualities. You can ask your close friends for some of then, because it’s so important to know why you are so special and wonderful the way you are.
7) Spend some quality time with yourself. You don’t need to be alone all the time, but it’s not necessary to be with someone to be happy. If your friends stood you up for one day at the movies, go by yourself!
8) Remember all the people that are in a much worse social position in life than you are. You have food, a house, friends, family, school/job, and so many other things that millions of people in this planet don’t have.
9) Make some good deeds. The feeling of help others is fantastic.
10) Make some new tips! You know things that make you happy, don’t think, just do it!

Enjoy

Some days ago, I was reading a magazine called “Mundo Estranho” (Strange World) and a particular article shock me: prophecies about the end of our planet. I don’t know how much I believe in those, but some of them, like the ‘Maya’ one, are very impressive. But the real problem is that that prophecy said that the end of the world is in 2012! That’s four years from now! There are others, like an Egyptian one, that gave us more time, but all of them were saying that the end is near!
I’m not saying that the world will end in four years, but this article made me think a lot about how every single day is so important in our life! The world could end tomorrow, and I don’t know if I would have done everything that I wanted to before I died. Actually, there are lots of personal achievements that need to be realized after I leave this life.
Until some days ago, I really though that we can let some days just go away, and do nothing about it, but what if this ordinary day was our last one? We are here, in planet Earth, not just to survive, but to grow, to enjoy this present that was given to us!

"Benjamin Button: For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again"
